Over recent years a number of people have encouraged me to write a blog but to be honest I have resisted for a number of reasons.

Firstly who would be really interested to read my thoughts on anything!

Secondly all these blogs seem somewhat prideful to me, with all these people presenting their opinions to whoever has nothing better to do than read them.

Thirdly, have you ever received one of those Christmas newsletters where the family have been everywhere, done everything and have been successful at everything. It makes your family look like the Simpson’s and it is just a complete bore.

Fourthly, how would I even get the time to write a blog, as I haven’t got the time to live my life let alone write about it?

Fifthly, I like to laugh at some blogs, particularly those written by Christians as they can be such a bore!

Anyway my friend Mike has finally convinced me to just get on with it – so here I am! All I can hope is that it proves to be of some worth to you.

I’ll start my blog with two tips

1. Unfurling Flower (www.unfurlingflower.blogspot.com) is a great blog written by a young woman from Brighton in the UK. It is definitely worth reading. If you get nothing else out of my blog at least you have got a good tip for someone else’s.
2. Don’t go out in a dingy in Sydney Harbour- it’s very cold in the water and you will get wet!
