What an Amazing Night!!
I am personally not a big fan of trivia nights as it always seems that the wrong questions are asked - they tend to be questions that I don't know the answers to whilst everybody else seems fully aware of the answer like what the theme tune of a particular TV show is for example.
On Saturday night I attended what I think was one of the best trivia nights ever! The reason wasn't that I could answer all the questions, but just the fact that it was an incredibly enjoyable and fun evening. It was full of variety, full of laughter and I don't think I will ever forget the 2 Elvis's who MC'd the evening.
There were only 2 draw backs - both our children who attended either tied with our table or thrashed us taking out first prize. It is quite a sobering thought when one realises that your kids now are smarter than you!!!!! [at least when it comes to trivia.]
God spoke to our network of Churches some years ago about "being used to change the expression of Christianity across the earth". I don't know whether he had trivia nights in mind but two good friends of ours who attended were certainly amazed that the Church could put on such a quality event. I was very proud of so many people whom I deeply admire who shaped and produced a truly memorable night.
Well Done Everbody!

PS - I am now in Brighton, England attending the Newfrontiers Conference with 4000 leaders. Despite having no luggage [a couple decided to pick up my bag and take it to Salisbury near Stonehenge] I am enjoying the good weather and hope to post my next blog from here. I am sort of thrilled really that people would consider my taste in clothes to be good enough that they would want to aquire them!!! |
