Doomsday!

This was the headline that greeted Sydneysiders a couple of weeks ago as a massive dust storm settled over New South Wales and Sydney itself. Although it was a little eerie it certainly freaked many people out more than one would imagine. "The end of the world!”, “An alien invasion!”, "Jesus is back and I missed the rapture!”

This minor storm in world terms reminded me of the power of God and the smallness of man!! We often think we are in control and God is a minor player. We can also feel that we can somehow control nature but most of the time we have trouble even ascertaining why certain events happen [like this dust storm].

Of course we speculate!!! My friend who loves a laugh sent me the following picture to explain the recent happenings in Sydney.

That’s some angry beast! Looks like he got out of the wrong side of bed!

Sometimes I believe things are allowed to happen like “doomsday dust storm days” just to remind us that God is much bigger than You and I and that He is to be respected, reverenced and revered.
