FOOLHARDY OR FANTASTIC!

Jessica Watson is 16 years old and began a solo around the World yachting adventure just a few days ago. She is an Aussie with obvious guts and courage who has a dream and wants to fulfil it. After a false start a few weeks ago which resulted in an embarrassing collision with a cargo vessel just hours into her voyage alot of debate has been had.

On one side there are those who protest that not only is she placing herself at risk but the many who will inevitably have to rescue her. On top of this is the cost of such a rescue which the parents have now said they would pay for.

On the the other side there are those who say "Fantastic give her a go and what a great example she is to kids her age."

To be honest I don't know what to think. Jessica is obviously an amazing young woman who I would love to see succeed. It would be devastating to all concerned for the voyage to end in tragedy. I don't really know her skill level or the kind of demands that will be placed on her although I hope she does not encounter seas like these.  

For now I wish her every success and I really hope she does it.

I hope at least her example inspires you to do something you wouldn't have necessarily thought possible.
