World Series?

I note with interest that today marks the beginning of The World Series. YankeesPhillies

Being a lover of sport I wonder how many countries have entered teams in The World Series? I discover that of course that only one country has teams in the Baseball World Series and that is the U.S.A. I then discover that the 2 teams playing the World Series are based in cities that are no more than 600km from each other (New York and Philadelphia). On top of this I find out that some of the key players in the game used to be team mates playing for the same team!

In Australia we play A.F.L. (Australian Rules Football)

AFLAnyone who has watched it quickly discovers that Rules is an expression of intent rather than reality. There appears to the uneducated that there are no rules! Only Aussies are crazy enough to play this game but I really think we need to change the name. Americans are not afraid to call a game between 2 sister cities The World Series!

So I think we should call our game WORLD RULES FOOTBALL with the champion team becoming The Champions of The WHOLE World!!!!!

Alternatively to this we could call The World Series baseball game The BACKYARD BASEBALL SERIES and stick with Aussie Rules.

Enjoy the Game whatever it’s called and remember none of us constitute the centre of the Universe!!!!
