Jazz Night Raises $5,380

AlyshaGrace City Church recently put on a Jazz Night to raise money for Alysha Edwards, an 11 year old who has Cleidocranial Dysplasia. This condition is a genetic deformity characterised by deficient or imperfect ossification (growth and development) of bones – namely collar bones, skull, pelvis, bones of hands and feet, teeth developments conductive deafness, seizures and scoliosis. Diagnosed at 6 months of age Alysha has had to have (and continues to have) many surgeries to enable her to walk and function normally.

The Jazz band was of a very high standard and was made up of musicians and singers from Grace City Church lead by Kate & Miles Simmonds. The band included Miles (keyboards), Paul (guitar & Saxtrumpet), Chris (drums), Johnny (base), Gareth (percussion), Shaun (Sax) & Ben (Sax). The singers included Kate, Michael, James, Ben, Paul & Chris.

Money was raised from the tickets sold for the event as well as an auction held on the night which included a Cricket bat signed by Steve Waugh, Year memberships to the Sea Eagles, Large photos on canvass, a weekend getaway in Hawks Nest and a mountain bike and David Jones voucher.

The total amount raised for the Alysha Edwards Trust Fund was a fantastic $5,380!Mike Paul
