EVERyBODY IS RELATING, BUT NOT TO THOSE IN THEIR FAce!

As many of you know I have been travelling again and am on the way back from an excellent apostolic forum held in Holland.

japanphoneI am currently waiting to board yet another plane. I am now demonstrating what is in evidence all around me - Everybody is captivated by screens and no one has time to talk.

In my humble opinion we basically live in an increasingly sociable but unsociable world. Having 500 friends on facebook is a real ego boost but what is the definition of a friend?

Telling the world how you spent each hour of your day is not the most gripping reading but some spend loads of their time alerting the world of their endeavours.

Why ring somebody and actually have a conversation where you can at least sense someones heart when you can text them?!

Maybe I am just old fashioned but then again I love technology when it is used in the right way. Getting texts on my birthday spent away from home was a real blessing so it's not all bad by any means.

As a pastor who often has to deal with people who experience all sorts of misunderstandings over emails and texts can I simply encourage you all to be wise in the use of technology. Let it serve you but don't let it master and control you. I know this may sound incredible but you can actually switch the mobile off.

Have a great week
Peter
