Easter in Australia
Like many nations, Australia is considered to be a Christian nation where Christian values are upheld. For many Christian values have little to do with Christ however and more to do with upholding a reasonable moral code.
Easter is now just a few days away and I was somewhat surprised (although I shouldn't have been) to be greeted by a woman at my local supermarket check out in Sydney who was convinced that Good Friday represented the day when Jesus was born.
I suppose her declaration simply illustrated the fact that many Australians are not even aware of the Christian Story let alone the fact that Jesus is their Saviour!
I believe with all my heart that God wants us to "seek and save the lost ". My priority in Australia is to see people not only understanding the story but discovering the Saviour who is at the centrepiece of not only the story but the whole universe.
History is HIS STORY!!! I hope that before too long your history will include an encounter with Jesus if it hasn't already!
Have a Great Easter Peter
