$2000 raised for Burdekin Association
Grace City Church recently had an evening cruise on Sydney Harbour to raise money for the Burdekin Association.
Despite a rocky start when the guests were embarked under Sydney Harbour Bridge and the movement of the boat caused some to reconsider the idea of eating anything, the rest of the cruise was plain sailing with a beautiful Sydney evening as we explored different bays and aspects of Sydney Harbour.
As well as enjoying the harbour and the great company and despite some interesting 'moves' on the dance floor we were also able to raise $2000 from the ticket sales and from an auction held on board. Items for the auction were generously donated by Gusha Visual Media, Dean Lewis, Gerry Struik and Glen Mace and included 2 boat trips a weekend in Hawks Nest and a spectacular picture of Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Grace City Church is very happy to be able to support the Burdekin Association which works with young people who are at risk on the Northern Beaches. The Burdekin Association, established in 1981, is a community based not-for-profit organisation. It provides a range of integrated accommodation, care and support services to young people (12-21) and families in the Northern Sydney area. All services provided by the Association aim to prevent youth homelessness and family breakdown.
Vision: For young people to have a safe and secure home and access to opportunities available in the community.
