A Week is a Long Time in Politics
They say a week is a long time in politics but in Australia, 3 hours is all it takes. Last week in Australia saw Kevin Rudd replaced by Julia Gillard in a morning. It was not pretty and extremely ruthless. Even for one who had not been a huge fan of Kevin's the sight of him crying and then sitting forlornly on the back benches was awful.
The truth of the matter is leaders come and go!
As I was contemplating a week in politics these verses about Jesus (from the Bible) came into my head.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
Putting your faith in earthly leaders will ultimately end in tears. Putting your faith in a leaders whose Government and Leadership will never end is the way to go!
