Election on the Line!
We are lead to believe that on Saturday the election is on the line and every vote will count. I wonder what you have made of the election campaigns? Are you bored silly, frustrated or intrigued. I suppose I could genuinely say I have been all of the above.
I think what has been most frustrating is the way it appears the media manipulate much of what we see and hear. Whilst political parties are accused of spin I am amazed at times to witness perhaps an interview or debate only to be told the next day a version of events that don't seem to mirror what I witnessed .
As I was reflecting on this I was again challenged as a Christian to present Christ as he really is. So many Australians view Christ through the eyes of Churches that they simply don't relate to. On one extreme some Churches appear boring and irrelevant, whilst others seem to talk more about money than the Treasurer himself.
As a Church we have recently taken the step of moving our morning meeting to Dee Why RSL.The most exciting thing about this move thus far has been the overwhelming support from unchurched men and women who up until now see the Church and Christ as irrelevant.
I will be genuinely praying that God will place the right person over our Nation on Saturday but my greater prayer is that Jesus will be lifted up in our Nation and seen as the most genuine, loving and robust person who ever walked the planet.O ne thing I know above anything else Jesus will never let you down!!!
Love in Christ Peter
