stable government?
Well friends as the phrase goes “It’s been a long time between drinks”. My last blog entry happened a month ago and we finally have a Prime Minister!!!! Julia Gillard’s passion, alongside the Independents (who effectively decided the election) is for stable Government. Whilst I praise God that we do not live in a volatile nation where coups are regular occurrences, the stability of Government often rests on the hearts of men and women and their desire for position and power. I am not convinced personally that 3 years will go by before we have another election. I am also not convinced that all will be peaceful in the years ahead.

As I was considering the stability or otherwise of our existing Government, my thoughts went to the Government of God. Isaiah writes “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders... Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.” Thank God that the whole world is heading towards stable Godly Government. Jesus will reign, peace will reign and Gods Kingdom will be established. Jesus is an amazing ruler because he knows what life on earth is all about. ”He’s been there, done that”. In a small comparison it’s like the current TV program where the company director who disguises himself as the office clerk and then visits his employees. Nine times out of ten he realises it’s not as easy doing the mundane jobs as he thought and he identifies with them in a new way. God himself identifies with us. The man Christ Jesus. Stable Government on the earth will never be sustained. Gods Government is always increasing and will last forever. Much Love and I’ll try and make sure next time it’s not so long between drinks!!!
