the world is getting smaller!!!

Over recent weeks I have had the privilege of travelling to some wonderful cities. London, Christchurch [below], Sydney and now Nagoya [Japan].

Of course Sydney is my home and I still regard it as my favourite, but every city has it's beauty and highlights.

For me however it's all about people!!! In my opinion, God made people beautiful. I suppose they are made in his image so it makes sense that they are all pretty special.

Whilst in London I received many encouragements from the men who I serve alongside in New Frontiers. One came from a wonderful guy called Stephen Van Rhyn who said in essence that "I am a man who feels at home wherever I am and whatever people group I am with".

I would have to say that this statement exactly identifies with how I feel. As a people across the world I believe the more we are enriched by other cultures rather than threatened by them, the more we will not only grow personally but see a more united and non racist world.

As I have travelled in the last few weeks, I have been encouraged by the way the world was joining together with hope for the release of the Chilean Miners. What a fantastic moment it was when the last miner came to the surface after 70 days or so underground. It was wonderful to see the celebrations around the world.

At moments like these you feel the world is getting smaller!!!!!! And just a little more caring.

Much Love

Peter
