People Power

I found myself recently contemplating the amazing power of people to influence and change the world. Corporately it seems like the masses in Egypt have said “enough is enough” and now those who have been in power for decades are now being brought to account.

Of course we have already witnessed  what people power did in South Africa stopping massive bloodshed  a number of years ago. Also the Berlin wall coming down is another incredible example.
 
People power can truly change things but of course it is not always for the good. Christ was chosen not to be released over Barabbas because of people power. Kids are often bullied at school by other kids on mass as peer pressure takes over.
 
Having the courage both  to stand up for good  and stand against the masses when it is not for good is a huge challenge. I pray for a successful and smooth transition in Egypt. Some may lose their lives doing what they believe is necessary so that oppression is lifted.
 
May God give us the courage to stand and the wisdom to know who to stand with and what to stand for in
every circumstance.
