Sunday Children's meetings
Grace City Church welcomes kids of all ages. There are children's programs for every age group on Sunday mornings and other activities going on during the week. During Sunday morning services, our younger children generally stay with us for the first half of the worship time, before going to their own activities. Each group would like to tell you a little bit about themselves:
JTs (Jesus’ Tots) is for children ranging from those who are discovering the joys of crawling to kids aged around 3 yrs. JTs spend their time playing with toys, doing basic crafts, reading stories and singing songs. JTs are looked after by our fantastic (energetic) creche team.
Rockets is for children aged from about 3-5yrs. We follow a basic program each week that aims to give our kids an understanding of who God is. It covers concepts like “God loves me” and “God made the earth and everything in it”. Rockets have a lot of fun. We sing worship songs, and make up dances. Sometimes we come and teach our dances to the rest of the congregation. Some of the church’s best grooves were invented by 5 year olds… Rockets also get into (age appropriate) crafts and bring home some great new decorations for your fridge and walls.
Kids’ Connection is for kids from Kindy to grade 4. We are a very energetic and fun loving group. We follow a regular program that aims to teach kids bible truths and learn how to apply these in our everyday lives. We do this through worship, bible stories and games. We are a pretty lively bunch, and we love having new people come to join us.
Club 56 is undoubtedly the best group, if we do say so ourselves. We are for young people in grades 5&6. We focus on building relationships with our peers and learning how to apply what we hear in church to our every day lives. Club 56 is about young people working out their own relationship with God, and building their own faith, rather than relying on that of family or friends. It’s about working out what you really believe and why you believe it.
Frenzy (Sunday) is THE group for teens. We are mostly around grades 7-9. On occasion, we will stay in with the rest of the congregation during a church service. When we do go off by ourselves, we tend to pick up the main points of the main service, and look at them from a teenage perspective. We also catch up and hang out on Friday nights at Frenzy.
